ARC Liquid Membrane Roof Coat

Coating methodology

For all roof types (metal, tile, and decramastic), ARC roof coating is installed in four stages. Our comprehensive process ensures that your roof will be restored to the highest level and be waterproof and weathertight.

Our roof coating service is typically completed between two to four days — dependent on the scope of the job and the weather.

You can trust ARC to protect your investment and be confident in our service with our warranties — 5 Year Workmanship Warranty and 10 Year Product Warranty.

At Affordable Roof Coating, we follow a thorough and professional process to ensure your roof looks great and stays protected for years to come.

Stage 1: Inspection and repairs

We start by inspecting your roof for any cracks, rust, dents, and loose nails or tiles. Any damaged areas are repaired or replaced to create a solid foundation for the coating.

Metal roofs
All loose nails will be removed and refixed with screws.  All ridges, valleys and flashings will be checked and repaired or replaced as required.

Tile roofs
All tiles will be checked for cracks and replaced where required. Ridges and barges will be checked and where required will be replaced and repointed with the ARC Flexible Pointing System. Valleys will be checked, repaired, or replaced as required.

Decramastic roofs
Any dents in chip-coated tiles will be popped out where possible. Tiles will be replaced where they cannot be repaired. Ridges, flashings, and valleys will be checked and repaired or replaced as required.

Stage 2: Clean

Your roof is thoroughly cleaned with a high-pressure washer to remove dirt, moss, lichen, and any old or flaking paint. This is essential for proper paint adhesion and a clean, smooth finish.

Stage 3: Protective masking

We protect your gutters, windows, walls, and surrounding areas from overspray using drop sheets and masking. Your property is treated with care and respect.

Stage 4: Optional anti-fungal treatment

If required, we apply a roof-safe fungicidal wash to eliminate any remaining spores or organic growth. This step ensures a longer-lasting finish.

Stage 5: Roof priming (if required)

Metal roofs
Any areas of red or white rust will be treated with a rust converter or anti-corrosive primer to prevent any further rusting and degradation.

Tile roofs
Tile roofs will be sealed with ARC’s Waterproof Membrane Sealant System for the areas that need more protection.

Decramastic roofs
Any areas of red or white rust will be treated with a rust converter or anti-corrosive primer to prevent any further rusting and degradation.

Stage 6: Coat

Once the roof is clean and appropriately treated, we apply two coats of a high-performance, flexible roof paint or membrane paint using airless spray equipment. This gives your roof a fresh, modern look and long-term weather protection.

This step completely seals the roof with a waterproof membrane to protect it for many years to come. Our Product Warranty is 10 years, however, we expect the coating to last well beyond this period.

Stage 7: Final clean and inspection

Once the job is done, we clean up the worksite, remove all masking, and do a full quality check to ensure your roof looks amazing and meets our high standards.

This step completely seals the roof with a waterproof membrane to protect it for many years to come. Our Product Warranty is 10 years, however, we expect the coating to last well beyond this period.
